Happy birthday, Picasso! (The history of Demoiselles in Photos)
“Are we to paint what’s on the face, what’s inside the face, or what’s behind it?” (Picasso)
In honor of Pablo’s birthday (he was born on October 25, 1881), here’s a little walk down memory lane (through photos) of the “life” one of my favorite Picasso’s Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (Paris, June-July 1907).

Le Bateau Lavoir (Montmartre, Paris) where Picasso’s studio was during the summer of 1907 when he painted Demoiselles.
